Situated beneath the Brooklyn Bridge within the Fulton Landing Landmark District, this storage facility had been subject to falling debris and bridge cleaning chemicals. As a result, the building envelope had suffered from water damage which infiltrated the building envelope through decayed roofing and flashing, open parapet and masonry joints, cracked and delaminated brick and corroded windows.

Our work to restore the building envelope which was subject to landmark approval included installing an IRMA system which uses the rigid insulation to protect the roofing from falling debris. It comprised the installation of a new steel window system and replacing deteriorated cast stone and brick facade components with replicates of the original design. On the basis of selective testing and probes, a structural reinforcing program was also implemented.
